The model tonight was David. Since it’s daylight savings time, the light changes quite a bit in the studio while we are painting (we work from 6-9 pm). I started blocking in all of these intense hues as the sunlight streamed in during the beginning of the session, and as the sky grew darker, so did my painting. Not to put myself on the same level as Monet, but it made me realize (although I knew it already): I gotta paint the light. I think my evening figure paintings are suffering a bit because of this. It’s a good challenge to work through. 3-hour study. Acrylic on Canson paper.
